The New Committee
The outgoing Chairman Noel Cork MBE, presents the Branch formation certificate to the incoming Chairman Neville Hancox.

It was a full house at the Social club in the Ciudad de los Comunicaciones near San Miguel when the Costa Blanca
branch No 1359 held their AMG. The Outgoing Chairman gave his annual report and told the meeting now had the full official permanent charity status awarded to them but because they were not allowed to include the word 'royal' in their title they were known as 'La Asociacion de ex ex Aviadores' de Gran Bretagne'.
The Chairman reviewed a successful year with their target of £5000 being raised for the Wings Appeal, a successful attendance at the 'This is Spain Exhibition, attendance at the European conference in Benidorm and a bid to host the 2010 European conference in competition with Gibraltar and Switzerland as some of the highlights of a busy twelve months.
He also mentioned the involvement that members had in the community participating in the International Cofradia during the Easter parades in Torrevieja and the Flower Parade at the end of the year.
He thanked 1car1 for their sponsorship of the branch.
There were two 'special' trophies awarded at the meeting. The first was the 'Wings Trophy' and this was awarded to to Philip Law who was not able to be at the meeting. The second trophy was the Presidents Trophy and this was awarded to Norman Scotting.
An embroidered picture of the RAFA emblem that had been made by Hilda Cork was presented to the branch by Noel Cork MBE.
The President of the branch took the chair for the election of officers and the following members were elected to form the committee for the following year :-

Vice President: Bill Butler,
Chairman: Neville Hancox,
Vice Chairman Brian Todd,
Hon Treasurer: Graham Distin,
Hon Secretary Pat Distin,
Membership Secretary Ken Booth,
Welfare Officer Eleanor Morris
Functions Manager Norman Scotting,
Publicity Member Terry Watson.
