At the Annual General Meeting the outgoing chairman thanked the membership in general for supporting the branch so enthusiastically over the past year, and gave special thanks to his committee who supported and steered him though the complexities associated with the chairmanship.
He reminded members of the very busy program- me of events, both formal and social, that members had been involved in over the past year.
The extremely successful 5th Anniversary Buffet Luncheon held at the "Olympia" Restaurant in February and the weekend get together with colleagues from the North Costa Blanca Branch in March, followed by the Wings Charity Concert at Rojales and the superb Battle of Britain Dinner & Dance held at the "Venue" in September. Interspersed with these activities was the branch involvement in the :- International Costaleros; The International Veterans Day; This is Spain Exhibition; The Flower Festival; and finally Carols in the Square in Torrevieja, where members donated dry goods for the poor and needy of Torrevieja. In addition to this members also donated shoe boxes filled with Toys to Caritas at Christmas .
Finally our main Charity "Wings" when £5.000 was again sent to RAFA UK to support currant & ex-servicemen plus another €1.000 to our own welfare appeal. All these activities were encompassed by the very successful Luncheon Club, where members gathered once or twice a month at various venues.
He concluded by saying how gratifying it was to see that the branch continues to flourish with over 100 members and was confident that this would remain so.
The Branch Presidents Trophy was awarded to Eleanor Morris for her dedicated work as the local Welfare Officer.
The"Wings" Trophy was presented to Colin & Mary Broad for their Fund raising activities throughout the year.

The Royal Air Forces Association Costa Blanca branch confirmed that once again they would be supporting the The International Veterans Day celebrations between April 23-25
